Design story

From analog tapes and film reels in our early days, through the CD era, the rapid transition to digital production after 2008, and the rise of streaming alongside the resurgence of vinyl, audiophiles have consistently recognized the challenges of “digital sound.”

Today, streaming platforms offer 24-bit/48 kHz and higher resolutions, along with instant access to vast music libraries. Yet the pursuit of a truly satisfying, audiophile-grade streaming experience remains ongoing. At EAhibrid, we have been deeply committed to this goal and we are proud to present our latest solution.

Even before our official launch in December 2021, EAhibrid was actively researching routers, network switches, fiber-optic transmission, optical isolation, and related technologies, exploring new ways to elevate streaming sound quality. We recognized early on that network-based transmission would become the dominant standard for digital audio, driven by developments such as AES67 and AoIP in the professional audio world.

Over more than two years of intensive R&D, beginning with USB transmission and its four digital signal lines, we progressed through countless iterations: prototyping, international system testing, critical feedback, identifying bottlenecks, and continuous refinement. It was not until 2023 that we began developing network-based isolation and filtering concepts.

The period from 2023 to 2024 proved to be the most challenging phase. While our integrated distortion-reduction technology succeeded in delivering an open, natural soundstage reminiscent of analog and open-reel tape, early prototypes struggled to preserve the density and fine detail that define truly exceptional analog reproduction.

Through relentless experimentation, deep technical analysis, and continuous refinement by our R&D team, we addressed these challenges step by step. After numerous optimizations leading up to August 2024 - just before launch - we achieved a decisive breakthrough.

The result is the all-new “Integrated Cyber Filter.”

When combined with our proven battery power supply solutions, this innovation is designed to elevate streaming-based audio systems to an entirely new level - bringing audiophiles closer than ever to a truly analog-like listening experience.

Das von Ihnen im vergangenen Jahr erworbene EAL2000 Netzwerk-Filterkabel begeistert mich noch immer - der Klanggewinn ist nach wie vor klar hörbar und bereitet mir täglich große Freude.

Nach etwa 4-6 Wochen Einspielzeit hat das Kabel in Punko Natürlichkeit und Musikalität noch etwas zugelegt, was das Hören mit dem Kabel noch angenehmer macht. Das EAL2000 war für mich die beste Anschaffung im HiFi-Bereich im Jahr 2025.

In my rig—a Tambaqui DAC, Boulder 866 amplifier, and a pair of WLM Diva speakers—the introduction of this filter had a huge impact on sound quality in terms of noise suppression, detail retrieval and effortless musical flow. The improved dynamics, liveliness and details I had never heard before made me listen to my whole collection again with renewed pleasure. This is one of the best upgrades I have made in recent years.

It's a gem that deserves much more recognition.

His system is composed by an ultra low noise and performing computer box were he has room and HQplayer using Qobuz, a PSAudio direct stream mk1, an accuphase A47 and Martin Logan tweaked speakers. The whole sang very well.
Of course and as it’s usual, until connecting EAhibrid cables, people show some distrust…of course one of my favourite moment…the second one is when we push play button and the magic happens 🪄🪄
We began with the usb cable that I was very curious of as I only heard it in 2 systems but knew is potential. He had a good cable with sotm usb ultra with proper power supply and another filter. Of course the usb cable was a night and day impact, very noticeable. Now I had his attention 🤓.
But the real deal is indeed the Ethernet cable that made a more impactful effect as they open the scale and free the speakers. Also increasing details and layers, etc.
By the way, at first we did only test one cable at the time to feel the impact of each one.
Of course EAL 2000 was better.
But funny is that to obtain more sound quality it’s better to have at least 2 Ethernet cable in the chain. For that we use also an Ifi. We heard the impact of the Ifi without the EAhibrid cables but once we put at the entry first the EAL1000 with the EAL2000 near the streamer it was another jump in quality 😇 but when we put my 2nd EAL 2000 it was another step forward 😎 after we add the usb cable and another step further. The last test was to try EAhibrid power supply that I never connected yet and a little bit doubting of any effect as I already tried several in the past and the effect was very very slight….but this one is something, we were all opened mouth at the moment the music played…how was it possible that a power supply connected to the Ifi made such improvements: blacker background, beautiful silences but more meat, more dynamic, a new music presentation 😱😱😱of course he wanted also to try it to his tv box, streaming videos from internet through it and the result was surprising: addition to the music quality, the image of the screen was wouaw, truly amazing…and I must admit I was very doubtful 🫢. He will digest that overwhelming demo as few days before he had had a demo with other cable solutions that seems please him but not at the level of this demo and the quality his system reaches…he may contact you in the next weeks/months or before 🫢🫣🤪

First impression of the EA Hybrid EAL2000 ethernet filter already after a use of < 100h: BLUF Bottom Line Up Front: wow!

Not that it is important for many but still a word about the unboxing: I have already received several high-quality cables but the way this cable was presented to me is unseen, apart from the ruggedized case, the beautifully printed cardboard packaging the cable itself was put in its casing with all possible care, up to a soft fabric bag around the filter element, neatly tied on both sides! Who goes so far as to send an filter cable? There is pride behind this.

The cable itself looks and feels solid, here too attention has been paid to the finish.

But now what it comes down to: is there a difference? I already use a Melco S10 ‘audiophile’ data switch and also pay a lot of attention to 'good' mains power. So I was curious what added value this filter could give me. There were still some points to improve in my setup, for example, I never got the sibilance to my satisfaction. Furthermore, I already had satisfaction in terms of spatial sound image, detail, etc...

Secretly I dreamed of an even much more ‘higher level’ streamer and DAC in place of my current combo Aqua Linq and Aqua La Scala Mk2 and how this much more ‘higher level’ combo would give me my dream sibilance control.

But then the EAL2000 came into my system, what other streamer/DAC combo was I talking about again? My open box for a better sibilance control was quickly checked off here and then the rest...sound image, even more beautiful separation from everything that can be separated in music and at the same time that is all more beautifully tied together. It seems as if EA Hybrid has found an important weak spot in digital streaming and that they have also managed to solve that.

• Feinheiten: Nuancen, Nebengeräusche, kleine Details, die vorher im Grundrauschen untergingen.

Dadurch treten feine Details (Atemgeräusche, Raum-hall, Instrumentenattacken) klarer hervor, ohne Schärfe.

Ich bin sehr begeistert & hätte das Ergebnis nicht erwartet.
Und das schon mit dem EAL 1000.
